Have you been experiencing a bitter taste in mouth or on your lips or around your mouth? Are you wondering what that bitter taste in your mouth is? Recently I was working on my computer and using quite a bit of canned air duster to clean it. Of course every now and then when the can isn’t completely right side up it sprays out liquid nitrogen. Later that day and the next day I kept noticing this extremely bitter taste on my lips and fingers. It was driving me crazy and I was starting to get worried and was even considering going to the doctors. That’s when I noticed on the can of 3M Dust remover that it said there was a bitterant added in the can to keep people from inhaling it. I know this sounds gross but if you want to know for sure that this is the problem just lick the part of your keyboard that you were cleaning out. Or spray the can upside down on a surface wait for it to dry and then lick it. You will very quickly recognize the same bitter taste that was on your lips.
This bitter taste is extremely annoying and hard to get off. It took away all the enjoyment from food because after every bite I had this horrible bitter taste on my lips. I’m sure it will eventually ware off on its own but I found you can get it off sooner by simple scrubbing your hands, face, and lips with warm soapy water. This will take away most of the bitter taste on the lips and the rest of the bitter lip taste will ware off pretty quickly. You should also wipe down your keyboard so you don’t contract this substance onto your hands every time you use the computer.
So we can thank all of the druggy’s, who apparently enjoyed huffing air duster to get high, for this horrible bitterant additive in the canned air that makes using it correctly extremely annoying. I have been trying to find a brand of canned air that doesn’t contain bitterant but have not met with any success. So the next time you decide to start cleaning your computer with a little canned air duster be careful you dont get it on your hands because it will probable end up on your mouth.
